Kinderfrühstart Rentenrechner

FAQ

Answers that actually help

Explained clearly — no jargon. Can’t find your question? Just write to me.

What is the Frühstart-Rente?
A planned state subsidy: the state pays 10 €/month into a capital-funded pension depot for children aged 6 to 18 who attend school in Germany. The money is locked for retirement and paid out only at pension age. Status: draft decision 12/2025, planned start 2027.
Who is eligible — and from when?
Children aged 6 to 18 attending school in Germany. It starts cohort by cohort from 2027, beginning with those born in 2020 (retroactive to 2026). The legislative process sets the details.
Do I have to apply?
As things stand, the funding is income-independent and largely automatic. What matters most is choosing a suitable depot early — and deciding whether you top it up.
Is 10 € from the state enough?
It’s a great, free start — up to 1,440 € over 12 years. But honestly: the real lever is compound interest over the long term and a voluntary top-up. That’s exactly the difference the calculator shows.
Frühstart-Rente, Frühstart-Depot or junior depot — what’s what?
The terms get mixed up. In short: the Frühstart-Rente is the state subsidy for the child; a depot is the vessel the money is invested in. What suits your family depends on your goal — we’ll work that out together.
What does advice cost?
An initial meeting is non-binding and free. How further collaboration is paid I explain transparently up front — no hidden costs.
Are you really independent?
I’m self-employed and not bound by any corporate quota. I recommend what fits you, and sometimes I advise against something. Regulated under §34d and §34f GewO; register details are in the imprint.
Do you offer advice in English?
Yes. I advise in fluent English — especially for international families in Berlin who otherwise struggle to access the German pension system.
